The Kerman Province, with its significant potential in industry, mining, agriculture, and services, saw the development of the Mahan Knowledge Campus. This development led to the establishment of the University of Industrial Graduate Education on the campus. In the second half of 2007, the Council for the Development of Higher Education of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology approved the creation of the Kerman University of Advanced Education within the Mahan Knowledge Campus. Construction work on the campus began in 2007, initiated by the then governor and several provincial officials.
The university agreed to the activities of three faculties: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Mapping Engineering, and Science and New Technology. These faculties encompassed teaching groups in various disciplines including civil engineering, surveying, water engineering, earthquake engineering, nanotechnology, photonics engineering, new energy engineering, mining engineering, materials engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, geomatic engineering, and climatology engineering.
In the 2007-2008 academic year, the first group of students was admitted to the university. They pursued studies in various fields such as civil engineering, soil engineering, soil and foundation mechanical engineering, water and structural engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, information technology engineering, agricultural engineering, and agricultural science and research at the university's Biotechnology department.

The Kerman Province Science and Technology Park is a significant part of the economic, social, and cultural development programs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is being developed under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, with the aim of expanding knowledge-based activities and enhancing the region's technological level.
The province's abundant regional capacities, rich natural resources, and diverse climate offer high potential for industry, minerals, agriculture, and human resources. These resources, combined with the expertise of universities and research centers, have established the Kerman Province Science and Technology Park as the first regional science and technology park in the southeast of the country.
The establishment of a science and technology park in the constitution of the Institute of Advanced Science and Technology and Environmental Sciences, the founding organization of the park, reflects the forward-thinking vision of the founders and the organization.
The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
