Witness University, a public institution located in Tehran, is the only comprehensive university in the country. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education. Admissions to the university are conducted through the national university entrance exam in a semi-centralized manner.
The main hub of the university's activities is Pardis, situated in the south of Tehran, adjacent to the Persian Gulf Highway and the northern side of the Aftab City exhibition, located in front of the shrine of Ruhollah Khomeini.
Currently, the university serves over 6,000 students across 102 programs, including PhD, Professional PhD, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science degrees. Witness University comprises eight departments: Medical, Dentistry, Nursing and Midwifery, Humanities, Basic Sciences, Technical and Engineering, Agricultural, and Art Sciences. It also operates two medical centers: Shahid Mustafa Khomeini Hospital and Shahid Montazeri Specialized Dental Clinic.
The university provides virtual and combined training infrastructure for all theoretical courses. With the activation of the International Affairs Office, it has started accepting students from different countries, further enhancing its global reach.

The annual global ranking of universities and higher education institutions, conducted by prestigious centers like the Saimago SRI Institute of Scientific Documentation Center at Elsevier, serves as a valuable benchmark to assess the standing of universities and research institutions within a country. It also provides insights into advancements in knowledge and technology.
In the 2010 ranking, 36 academic and research centers from the country were listed among the world's top 2,800 universities. However, top-tier countries such as China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan continue to lead the rankings.
The university in question achieved the 36th and 2793rd positions, respectively. These rankings reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence and its significant contributions to various fields.
The management of dormitories is a key responsibility of the Student Vice Presidency at the university. Their mission is to provide a comfortable living space for students, recognizing that a dormitory is not just a place to sleep, but also a place for study, recreation, and overall residence.
The Department of Bedding Affairs works diligently to ensure that the dormitory environment is secure, peaceful, and conducive to learning. They have successfully achieved 100% coverage for single dormitory accommodations, meaning all students who applied and met the requirements were provided with a dormitory.
The dormitories are well-equipped with amenities to cater to the students' needs. These include a gymnasium, chapel, courtyards, TV halls, and reading rooms. These facilities collectively contribute to a comprehensive and conducive living environment for the students.
The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
