Amir Kabir University of Technology (AMIR KABIR) was inaugurated in Tehran in November 1956 as Iran's pioneer institute of technology. The university's pivotal foundation, known as "Tehran Polytechnic," was conceived to advance the initiatives of two contemporary technical institutes, namely the "Institute of Technology" and the "Art House of Supreme."
In the year following its inception, admission to the university was based on internal examinations. Starting in 1958, the primary and instructional activities of the core commenced, offering education in five engineering disciplines: electrical and electronics, mechanics, textile, chemistry, and "road and building."
Amirkabir University of Technology currently has 16 colleges, six independent departments, three departments in Bandar Abbas, Garmsar, and Mahshahr. The university also has an international campus and an electronic learning center.

**Technology Management and Innovation Development**: This is a subcategory of the Vice-Presidency of Research and Technology. Its aim is to transform scientific innovations and achievements into the country's required technology and products, and form knowledge-based companies. It consists of three sections: entrepreneurship, growth, and guidance centers for knowledge-based companies. It promotes an entrepreneurial culture at the university level, identifies elites, captures pure ideas, and provides material and spiritual support to make them successful knowledge-based companies. By creating the necessary infrastructure and providing effective support, they help knowledge-based companies successfully commercialize their products and services.
**University Central Library**: The Central Library and Scientific Documentation Center of Amir Kabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) was established in 1337 and expanded in 1340 due to the development of science and technology. In 1378, the library system was launched using the barcode system, and in 1384, the Mechanization of the Library Trust Desk was implemented. It is now fully mechanized in servicing members.
**Amirkabir University of Technology Central Laboratory**: This laboratory services system is a unique collection of modern laboratory equipment, developed with the support of more than half a century of scientific and research experience by the university professors.
