Dr. Ali Akbar Babalu has been recognized as the Young Scientist of the Country by the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran. A professor from Sahand University of Technology has also been selected as a national exemplar. The university has further distinguished itself with twenty of its professors being selected as top researchers at the provincial level, and their memberships in various scientific societies and research organizations at both the national and international levels. Sahand University of Technology has achieved top rankings in the country for its contributions to the consortium focused on enhancing oil reservoir reproduction. It has also earned the country's top ranking in terms of laboratory and industrial equipment. The university has secured the first rank in Iran for its Master's and Ph.D. programs and has been recognized for having the best designs at the science festival. For the past seven years, the Ministry of Science has designated the Department of Physical Education as the Higher Authority. The Scientific Association of Electrical Engineering-Control has been selected for a position at the Festival of Motion due to its research projects. The President of Sahand University of Technology has announced the university's presence in the Times Rating System. The university is ranked between 1001 and 1200 out of 1662 top universities across 99 countries. Among the 58 Iranian universities, it is one of the top 10 and holds the first rank among universities in East Azerbaijan province. This is a testament to the university's commitment to excellence in education and research.

The Central Library of Sahand University of Technology began its operations in 1368, coinciding with the university's establishment. The primary objective of academic libraries is to provide faculty members, students, and researchers with access to organized scientific information, thereby fostering knowledge development. The Central Library was set up to cater to the educational, research, and cultural needs of professors, students, and staff. It is tasked with collecting and organizing a variety of resources, including books, magazines, articles, research reports, audiovisual materials, databases, and electronic resources, required by research groups. The library currently serves over 1600 members. On the accommodation front, the Sahand University of Technology, which houses more than 2,000 dormitory residents, operates two hostels for male and female students under the administration of dormitory affairs. The composition of dormitory students varies based on their field of study, gender, and city of residence. The university also offers additional facilities to its students, such as the Back and Forth Service, Nutrition Automation System, and Location System.

The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
