Urmia State University of Medical Sciences (URMIA), established in 1968 as a faculty of the University of Urmia, is the oldest modern medical science university in Urmia. Currently, it serves a student body of 4,376 and employs 313 professors. The university has made significant academic contributions, with 611 articles published in domestic journals and conferences, including 195 papers and 416 conference papers. Additionally, 3,786 articles from the university have received international accreditation. The university also owns and publishes two professional magazines. This institution continues to contribute significantly to the field of medical sciences.

Urmia University of Medical Sciences holds a distinguished position among universities. It is closely associated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, and its National Transplantation Department is recognized as the first kidney transplant center in Iran, having commenced its official operations in 1367. One of the university's notable achievements is Dr. Sahar Mehranfar's patent on the diagnosis of acute blood cancer. In 2023, Urmia University of Medical Sciences participated along with 98 other universities from the country in these rankings, securing a position between 401 and 500. The University of Isfahan offers a variety of dormitories, each equipped with numerous facilities to cater to the needs of its students: 1. **Kowsar Dormitory**: This girls' dormitory, built in 1387 and utilized in 1390, spans an area of 4,800 square meters. It offers facilities such as a chapel, reading room, library, sports hall, television hall, green space, computer room, guest room, and ironing room. 2. **Golestan Dormitory**: Part of the Hazrat Fatima dormitory complex, this girls' dormitory was built in 1368 and utilized in 1387. It covers an area of 9,000 cubic meters and provides facilities like a grocery store, chapel, reading room, library, cultural center, sports hall, TV hall, and garden. 3. **Bostan Dormitory**: Another girls' dormitory in the Hazrat Fatima complex, it was built in 1372 and utilized in 1373. It houses 11,000 beds within its 6,300 square meter area. Facilities include a grocery store, prayer room, library, cultural center, sports hall, TV hall, green space, Basij office, Quran center, and public meeting room. 4. **Shahid Gholipour Dormitory**: This male dormitory, located on Salmas Road in Shaheed Gholipour Street, was inaugurated in 1387. It accommodates 3,500 students and provides educational facilities such as prayer rooms, reading rooms, libraries, cultural centers, sports halls, television halls, green spaces, and computer rooms. 5. **Nameless Martyrs Dormitory**: This male dormitory at Urmia University of Medical Sciences was built in 1387 and completed in 1391. It spans an area of 6,400 square meters and offers facilities such as a refrigerator, TV, shoemaking, chapel, and sports hall. These dormitories collectively contribute to a comprehensive and conducive living environment for the students.

The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
