The University of Medical Sciences was established by Haj Ahmad Mahdavi and received approval in July 1366, marking its inception as the first university of medical sciences in Zanjan. In 1373, it merged with the Regional Health Organization of Zanjan Province, leading to its rebranding as the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in Zanjan Province.
