Shahid Beheshti University, a governmental institution in Iran, operates under the Ministry of Health Education, Health, and Treatment in Tehran province. The university, formerly known as the National University of Iran, was established on February 28, 2009, in memory of the late Dr. Ali Sheikholeslam. It currently offers PhD, Master's, Professional, Specialized, and Graduate Doctorate programs on both daily and self-governing campus courses. In 1974, the government, supported by oil revenues, covered tuition fees, making education free and accessible to all social classes through a national entrance exam. This transformed the institution into a public university, similar to other universities. The university boasts a community of 12,600 students and 1,414 professors, including 130 faculty members. It has published 5,553 scientific articles in internal newspapers and magazines and is the privileged holder and publisher of 24 specialized journals. Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services has held 49 conferences and produced 691 internationally accredited articles. The university is equipped with laboratories for various fields of study. These include pathology, anatomy, immunology, parasitology, medical physics, biochemistry, and microbiology at the School of Medicine. The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery offers skill labs, practical tests, and immunology labs. The Department of Pharmacy houses Organic Chemistry and Analysis Laboratories, a device analysis lab with physical and chemical control, and toxicology and pharmacology labs. The Dental College features labs for anatomy, reconstructive phantom, pediatric dental, constant prosthetic, and dental studies.
