Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, established in 1945 in Shiraz, Fars Province, was founded with the objective of training medical specialists. The first term was led by Zabiullah Qurban, who, after returning from the American University of Beirut, significantly expanded the hospital's divisions. The university is a state institution governed by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Recognized as one of the largest and premier medical schools in Iran and the Middle East, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences provides health services to approximately 4 million people.
