Qom University of Medical Sciences, located in the province of Qom, officially started its operations as a university in late 2004. Prior to this, it functioned as the Qom Health Network, a subsidiary of the University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, responsible for health affairs in Qom. It was established as the School of Medical Sciences and Health Services following the promotion by the Qom Governorate in 1999. The Ministry of Health approved the establishment of nursing and health faculties, leading to the commencement of formal academic activities of the Faculty of Nursing in 1998, with the admission and medical education of Bachelor of Nursing students. In its early years, the university only had male students. However, it began accepting both male and female students as soon as the University of Medical Sciences was dissolved. The university trains specialized assistants in various fields, including internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, neurology, gynecology, and cardiovascular diseases. Currently, the university has 2,294 students and 206 instructors. It has published 743 articles in local publications and conferences so far, including 228 articles in journalism and 515 conference papers. Qom University of Medical Sciences is the publisher of four specialized journals and has held one conference to date. The research center has produced 1,889 internationally accredited articles.

The dormitories at the university are well-equipped with facilities such as a refrigerator, carpet, wardrobe, gas stove, computer, chair, and study table. The infrastructure of student homes is continually being developed and expanded. The rooms in the women's dormitories can accommodate four students each, while the capacity of the men's dormitories varies between four and ten students, depending on the size of each room. Specific dormitories include the Kowsar Girls Dormitory, located on Ghadir Boulevard opposite the Yadegar Imam Stadium on the University of Medical Sciences Campus, and the Imam Khomeini Boys' Dormitory, situated on Shahid Beheshti Street opposite the provincial health center. Nutrition is a key focus for the university's student affairs management. The Food Department oversees the preparation, cooking, and distribution of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring the use of quality and healthy raw materials. The department also manages the reservation and distribution of food in the service rows and dormitories through an automated nutrition system. The university offers a range of amenities, including sports services such as shooting, darts, table football, bodybuilding, martial arts, ping pong, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Counseling and psychological services are available, and students can participate in scientific and recreational camps.

The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
