Kerman University of Medical Sciences, established in 1356, began its journey with a modest cohort of 50 medical students. Today, it stands as a self-governing institution that not only provides educational services but also caters to the health needs of the community. The university boasts a vibrant academic community of 6,136 students, 515 professors, and 557 faculty members. It has made significant scholarly contributions, with 2,172 scientific papers published in domestic journals and conferences, which include 1,047 journal articles and 1,125 conference papers. Additionally, it has published 7,873 papers in internationally accredited journals. The university has also hosted seven conferences, further cementing its role in advancing medical knowledge and fostering scholarly discourse.

For the first time, Kerman University of Medical Sciences has made its mark on the global stage, appearing in the world's most prestigious rankings. These rankings were first published in June 2003 by Shanghai JiaoTang University in China. The university has achieved a national ranking of 3-5 and a global ranking of 301-400 in the field of public health. Furthermore, according to the results announced by the Times Rating System, the university holds a position in the 801-1000 range. This is a significant accomplishment for the institution.

The Central Library and Documentation Center of Kerman University of Medical Sciences, established in 1365, is one of Kerman's largest medical science libraries. This 800-square meter facility is housed in the Abu Ali Sina Building at Afzalipour Medical School. The library boasts a collection of 29,911 book titles, 8,337 dissertations, 380,011 electronic sources, and 470 visual and audio sources. In 1380, the Faculty of Medicine's library was integrated into the Central Library and Documentation Center. From its inception, the Central Library has been committed to providing access to the latest medical and paramedical information sources. This commitment aims to enhance scientific awareness and foster research in medical science and related disciplines. To provide top-notch services to its patrons, the library utilizes the latest library equipment and technologies. To further improve its performance, the library has acquired the latest information sources, CDs of medical journals, and the most recent Latin and Persian books through both international and domestic exhibitions. The Department of Hostel Affairs offers accommodation and facilities for students. These facilities are available to non-native students. The dormitories include the Golestan, Shahid Heydari Moghaddam, and Sajjad dorms for boys; the Bustan 1 and 2, Bahman, Taha, and Umm Abyha dorms for girls; and the Mother's Nest and Afzalipour dorms for married students.

The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
