Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences

Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, established in 1365, traces its origins back to 1354 with the inception of the Higher Midwifery Institute, its first educational center. Over the years, it expanded to include Babol Medical College in 1364, Sari Medical College in 1367, and Gorgan Medical College in 1371. Following the independence of Babol Medical University in 1370, Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences was officially founded. The university provides health services through eight departments: Education, Health, Research and Technology, Food and Drug, Social Affairs, Student and Cultural Affairs, and Development of Management and Resources. It employs over 17,000 people who work in 1,110 rural health houses, 280 health centers, 54 health centers, and 24 hospitals, serving more than 3 million residents of the province and visitors. In terms of its educational mission, the university has achieved significant success. It boasts 501 faculty members, 8,000 students, and 16,000 graduates. The university offers 110 courses and 35 educational and research courses. It has published 13 magazines, established 21 approved research centers, 10 technological development centers, and 4 knowledge-based companies. Furthermore, it has completed more than 5,700 research projects, reflecting its commitment to advancing medical knowledge and research.
