Yasuj University of Medical Sciences was established in 1369, originally as the Yasuj School of Medical Sciences, in conjunction with the Regional Organization and Treatment of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. In 1372, the institution merged with the School of Medical Sciences and the Regional Organization for Health and Medical Sciences, continuing its operations as the Yasuj School of Medical Sciences. The school was eventually promoted to Yasuj University of Medical Sciences in September 1374. This marked a significant milestone in its evolution, reflecting its growth and development in the field of medical sciences.

The Department of International Affairs at Yasuj University of Medical Sciences was officially established on 31 Khordad 1396, coinciding with the formation of the University's International Council.
