The University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, a public institution, was established in 1979. Initially, it was known as the Faculty of Agriculture and operated under the supervision of the University of Tabriz, with an inaugural class of 30 students studying public agriculture.
Today, the university spans over one hundred and fourteen thousand square meters of educational space and is equipped with teaching aids. It employs 399 faculty members, including one academic degree holder, 74 full professors, 155 associate professors, 153 assistant professors, and 16 instructors.
The university publishes four scientific journals and a research paper. It also has a staff of 307 members and a student body of approximately 12,000. This institution continues to contribute significantly to the field of higher education.

1. The university has been listed among the top one percent of the world's referenced universities for two consecutive years, starting from 1398.
2. A faculty member from the university was selected as a Country Sample Researcher.
3. For the first time, the university made it to the list of global universities and research centers with the highest number of top-percentage papers.
4. In 2021, the university marked its competent presence by being ranked among the world's top young universities.
5. In 2024, Mohaghegh Ardabili University was ranked between 601 and 800.
6. Last year, the university secured third place among the country's major universities and was listed among the world's top universities.

Mohaghegh Ardabili University offers a variety of student accommodations, each designed to cater to different needs:
1. **Student Dormitory Rooms**: These rooms are equipped with four-tier metal beds complete with bedding. They feature a kitchen, a bathroom, and a shared bathroom. Each room comes with an independent refrigerator. A public TV room is also available for use when there are more than 10 families.
2. **Independent Suites**: These suites offer two-tier metal double-deck beds, a bedroom, a refrigerator, and a private bathroom. They also have shared kitchen facilities but do not include a TV.
3. **2-Bedroom Standalone Apartments**: These apartments provide two-tier metal beds, bedroom equipment, a refrigerator, a bathroom, and an independent kitchen. However, they do not come with a TV.
4. **Villas (2, 3, and 5-bedroom units)**: The villas offer two-tier metal beds, bedrooms, refrigerators, bathrooms, and independent kitchens. They do not include a TV.
Each accommodation type is designed to provide a comfortable and conducive environment for students to live and study in.
The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
