Malayer University, initially known as "Malayer Teacher Training College", was established in 1991 under the affiliation of Bou Ali Sina University. It started with thirty students enrolled in Education Sciences. By 1379, it evolved into the "Malayer Higher Education Complex", expanding its academic offerings to include computer science, civil engineering, environmental studies, pasture studies, pure mathematics, and ceramic engineering, bringing the total number of faculties to seven. In 1383, Malayer University gained independence from Bu-Ali Sina University and was upgraded to a full-fledged university in 1384. Today, it operates from two campuses: the main campus situated at kilometer 5 of the Malayer-Arak Road, and the second campus, the College of Construction and Architecture, located on Daneshkade Boulevard, adjacent to the Islamic Azad University. The construction of the main university building, a project that began 15 years prior, saw significant progress in the years 85 and 86. The building was finally inaugurated on 21 Aban 1386, marking a significant milestone in the university's history. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Haddad-Adel, the Head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. In 1997, the university expanded its academic portfolio to include optics and laser engineering, reflecting its commitment to staying abreast of emerging fields of study.
