Yasuj University, a public institution located in the city of Yasuj in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, was established in 1362. In its inaugural year, it was affiliated with the University of Shiraz. However, by 1375, it had gained independence through its own advancements. Yasuj University is the sole public university in the province. Currently, the university serves a student body of 6,000 and employs 350 professors and 300 faculty members. It has made significant academic contributions, with 3,558 articles published in various local newspapers and journals, including 1,180 articles and 2,378 conference papers. Additionally, 2,675 articles from the university have received international validation. The university holds a patent and publishes three specialized magazines. It has also hosted 12 conferences, further enhancing its academic reputation.

The University of Yasuj has achieved significant recognition in various rankings. It is among the top 100 universities in Asia and is one of the 26 young universities in Iran. Globally, it ranks among the top 475 youth universities. The university's Manahel Academic Journal won second place at the Seventh International Student Publications Festival. Baser Rankings, an internationally accredited ranking system that began in 2013, has recognized the university's achievements. A recent 2021 report included the University of Yasuj among the top 100 Asian universities, with a total of 47 Iranian universities making the list. This is an increase from the previous year, which saw at least 40 Iranian universities included. In the fields of engineering, including general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering, Yasuj University ranks between 401 and 500. These accomplishments reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Dormitory and Nutrition

The initial registration fee for students at the university is $50. An annual fee of $50 is also required. For those interested in the Persian language course, which caters to all levels from beginner to advanced, the fee is $300.
